NADRA Vaccination Certificate Now Mandatory for International Travel from September 14, 2026

What Has Changed?
The Airport Health Department, Border Health Services-Pakistan (under the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulation & Coordination), issued a notification on September 7, 2026 mandating NADRA-integrated vaccination proof for all international passengers.
The notification, signed by Dr. Sara Saeed (Airport Health Officer, Karachi Airport), states that no passenger will be allowed to travel without a NADRA-integrated vaccination proof after September 14, 2026. No other vaccination card including handwritten or hospital-issued cards will be accepted after this date.

Which Vaccinations Are Required?
The notification specifies four vaccinations that must be recorded on the NADRA-integrated digital certificate:

The four mandatory vaccinations for NADRA-integrated certificates are polio, meningitis, yellow fever, and influenza. Saudi Arabia additionally requires meningococcal vaccination for all Umrah and Hajj visa applicants. Travellers arriving from or transiting through Africa, Central America, or South America must hold a yellow fever certificate.
How to Get the NADRA Vaccination Certificate Online?
The NADRA vaccination certificate is issued through the National Immunisation Management System (NIMS) portal. You must be vaccinated first at an authorised centre, then download the digital certificate online.
Step A: Get Vaccinated at an Authorised Centre
Visit the Federal Government Civil Dispensary (the only designated centre according to the September 7 notification) or another authorised NADRA-linked vaccination centre. Receive the required vaccinations (polio, meningitis, yellow fever, influenza as applicable to your travel). The health worker records your vaccination in the NIMS system linked to your CNIC.
Note: Vaccination and online registration facilities will also be available at the international departure area of airports. However, passengers using airport facilities must arrive at least six hours before their flight.
Step B: Download Your Digital Certificate from NIMS
Step 1: Go to the NIMS NADRA portal.
Visit nims.nadra.gov.pk in any web browser or on mobile.
Step 2: Select the vaccination certificate option.
Choose the certificate type you need from the portal menu (COVID-19, polio, or other immunisation certificate).
Step 3: Enter your CNIC number and issue date.
Type your 13-digit CNIC number (without dashes) and the issue date printed on your identity card. Complete the captcha verification.
Step 4: Enter your name and passport number.
Provide your full name as per your CNIC, your passport number, and your nationality. Confirm to proceed.
Step 5: Pay the certificate fee (PKR 100).
Two payment options are available: pay online via Visa or Mastercard debit/credit card (OTP verification required), or pay at any eSahulat franchise near you. JazzCash and EasyPaisa are also accepted for some certificate types.
Step 6: Download and print your certificate.
After successful payment, download the NADRA-integrated digital vaccination certificate. The certificate includes a QR code for verification. Print a copy for travel and keep the digital version on your phone.
The NADRA vaccination certificate is downloaded from nims.nadra.gov.pk after vaccination at an authorised centre. The fee is PKR 100, payable by debit/credit card, eSahulat franchise, JazzCash, or EasyPaisa. The certificate includes a QR code for digital verification at airports.
Alternative: You can also visit any NADRA Registration Centre to obtain the certificate in person.

Airlines and travel agents have been directed to inform all Umrah pilgrims and international passengers about the new requirement. Airlines are responsible for verifying vaccination certificates before allowing passengers to board.
What Happens If You Do Not Have the Certificate?
After September 14, 2026, passengers without a NADRA-integrated vaccination certificate will not be permitted to board international flights from Pakistan.
If you arrive at the airport without the certificate:
• Vaccination at the airport: Vaccination and online registration facilities are being set up at international departure areas. You can get vaccinated and receive your NADRA certificate at the airport, but you must arrive at least six hours before your scheduled flight to allow time for the process.
• Old vaccination cards: Handwritten cards, hospital-issued cards, and non-NADRA vaccination records will NOT be accepted after September 14. Only the NADRA-integrated digital certificate with QR code is valid.
• Denied boarding: Airlines have been instructed to verify certificates. Passengers without valid documentation may be denied boarding.
No vaccination card other than the NADRA-integrated digital certificate will be accepted for international travel after September 14, 2026. Passengers arriving at the airport without the certificate should reach at least six hours before departure to use airport vaccination facilities.
Special Requirements for Umrah and Hajj Pilgrims
Umrah and Hajj pilgrims face additional requirements beyond the standard international travel vaccination:
• Meningococcal (ACWY) vaccination: Saudi Arabia requires proof of meningococcal vaccination for all Umrah and Hajj visa applicants. This must be recorded on your NADRA certificate.
• Airline verification: Airlines have been specifically directed to verify Umrah passengers’ vaccination certificates before boarding.
• Travel agent notification: All airlines must inform their travel agents about the new requirement. If your travel agent has not mentioned this, contact them and confirm your vaccination status before departure.
• Certificate from NADRA centre: Umrah pilgrims are advised to obtain their NADRA vaccination card from an authorised vaccination centre before travelling, rather than relying on airport facilities.
What About Overseas Pakistanis?
The September 7 notification applies to passengers departing from Pakistani airports. Overseas Pakistanis travelling to Pakistan or transiting through Pakistan should note:
• Entering Pakistan: Passengers aged one year and above arriving from Africa, Central America, or South America (or with 10+ hour transit in those regions) must present a yellow fever vaccination certificate.
• Departing Pakistan after visit: If you plan to depart Pakistan on an international flight after your visit, you will need the NADRA-integrated certificate. Get vaccinated and download the certificate from nims.nadra.gov.pk using your CNIC or NICOP number.
• NICOP holders: The NIMS portal accepts NICOP numbers for overseas Pakistanis. You can register and download the certificate using your NICOP details.
